What I describe requires NO coding at all.

The calendar and the displays are already made for that.
On calendarforum.dk you can make a post. We will then contact you and give a link where you can see an example, with log in.
If what we find out is what you want, then you can make an additional post here, where you explain what you have done in your own calendar to achieve it.

@fbonani

With the new generation of displays you should be able to do that.

You can have a category that is for public.
And a category that is for only logged on.

Then events with birthdays - recurring 1 year,

Then a display that shows the 2 categories.

The public category will be shown when not logged in.

Both the public and "private" will be shown when logged in.

The login is to the display.

This will function automatically for the next 100 years

Only thing is, that it cannot automatically show the number of years. This has to be edited manually:-)

I have not tried this myself - but it should be possible.

Hello Brien

As far as I know there is no such list.
But you can in the date-field in the navigation bar set the date back in time. Then - when you see the todo-list it will start from that date and a number of days forward.

It would maybe be smart that the todo-list started to show non-checked todo's xx days back-in-time from chosen date ( which will normally be TODAY )  and thereafter the list as it is now.
The xx should be to avoid a lot of entries if users does not check the todo-events.
Is it something like this you ask for?

Some/many mail-servers now requires that the sender address of a mail, is "belonging" to the domain.

Maybe it has something to do with this - or maybe it has nothing to do with this.

Hello Greig

Yes - it would be easier if we could post images and links much easier - but I think that it is blocked because of the persons that tries to sell "I listed some products that blocked my post" and other things or services.

Could you anyway supply a link to your calendar.
You could send a message via the "contact us". It could maybe also be useful for Roel to know which calendar version and PHP version you are using.

Hello Olivier

Regarding your 2. suggestion about the 2 subcategories :

As there is already 4 subcategories available for each category - what do you exactly mean?
Do you mean that you want 6????
Or was you not aware of the 4 existing subcategories???
or did you mean something completely different???

*** After installation of the "new" calendar, you have to change the url to your calendar.
It is one of the first settings : Calendar URL

If you wonder why the upgrade instructions is not as simple and quick as I describe then it is because :

In case you have some program files you have edited to have a new behaviour or some help files you have customized or some language files you have customized, then the changes you have made in the files will be lost by the method I described.
But all changes you do the "normal" way in the calendar will NOT be lost. It is only changes you make manual in a php-file with an external editor as notepad++.

If you have data you want to remain in the calendar you should :

Take a backup of the database or ( better ) the whole installation ( luxcalendar folders on the server ) should be copied to your PC ( in case something goes wrong ) .

When this is done, then you simply install the version 4.7.7 "over" the 4.7.6 ( make a full upload of the 4.7.7 with "overwrite" )
The first time you then start the calendar it tells you that it is upgraded - and that is it.

Upgrading this way takes seconds - 20 seconds to download the installation ( this is just in case.. ) and 20 seconds to upload the new installation "on top" of the old.
Installation of the sqlite version takes seconds to install and seconds to upgrade. The beauty in the sqlite installation is that you have it all in the installation - easy to install, upgrade and eventually move to another server - all this takes seconds

If you only have testdata in your 4.7.6 then you could remove the whole installation and make a new installation with the 4.7.7
If you make an upgrade the side panel is not automatic set - you have to do this in settings.
If it is a new installation the side panel is set to be shown ( this is the default by new installation ).

Just for information - a new version of the calendar is released today.
You should consider installing this version.
If you only have testdata until now, then it will be easy to upgrade by installing the new version over the "old" version.
The calendar will then automatic do an upgrade the first time you use the calendar - or you could remove the "old" and install the new.

The minisquares takes color from what you have specified for the category.

In the categories you can specify background and foreground (text) colors.
It can also for a category  be specified if the background color should be for the whole day.
This way you can have the whole day in year and matrix view have the background color.

Maybe you have to look in the php.ini and see the settings for SQLite - but I think we now need help from an expert.
I guess Roel  will guide you to a solution.

Please try this : ( SQLite version )

1 - Create a new subdirectory.
2 - In this subdirectory upload the unzipped version of the calendar.
3 - In your browser "open" the subdirectory.
4 - You should be asked for a name you want for the admin, an email, and a wanted password.

Then/now your calendar should be ready for use. You should NOT have a need for the lctools.php??????

If one or more of the 1- 4 gives an error message then please tell.

It should not. I have installed the calendar ( SQLite version )  many times and on different servers/ISP's  - and have never seen an error when installing a non-beta version.

**** IMPORTANT

Forgot to mention - if you migrate, then the system you are migrating from, and the system you are migrating to, should be the same version number.

You could upgrade to the newest version before migrating, or you could check the version you are currently running, and then contact Roel via the contact-page. I think he can supply an older version of the system, if you want to migrate to the same version as you have now.

If you ( or other users ) consider to shift to SQLite, then you can also "move" your existing data.

Here : http://calendarforum.dk/shift-database.html   you can see how.

The MySQL is only for those who have special needs or have really really many data. If you have a daily amount of more than 5000 events, and/or more than 10.000 users, then  the MySQL is recommended.

A tip :

You could make copies of the display2 - could be disp2fred, disp2greg, disp2julia - or whatever names you give them.

Then julia could have the  display disp2julia set up on her mobile. And Fred could have disp2fred.

Then the disp2(name) should be filtered on users.

This require that the users themselve create events, or the admin/manager sets the ownership of the event( when created/edited )  to the user.

The sales people could also have a display where all users is shown.

Then they will have two displays - one with only their own events, and another where they can see all.

But as i don't know how you use your calendar, then my tip is only a guess on, what could be useful.

@Bwaikel

In the General settings in Display2, you have the $evtBody =
Here you can insert a list of event fields to show.

1: Venue field
2: Event category field
3: Description field
4: Extra field 1
5: extra field 2
6: Email notification data
7: Date/time added/edited and the associated user(s).
8: Attached pdf, image or video files as hyperlinks.
The order of the numbers should determine the order of the displayed fields.

If it does not function as expected, or if this was not what you meant, then make a new post.

In settings you set the : Default User interface language.

See also here : http://calendarforum.dk/navigation-bar.html

It is also possible to "call" the calendar with parameters. The parameter for language is : cL - Example cL=Francais

The language file you choose must be present in the language folder.

A logon should not be required if you checked the "Remember me".

Did you check this option by login?

If the "Remember me" is not checked by login, then a new login is required when the session expires and you did not "reactivate". It is made for security reasons, I think, and is quite normal.

If you DID check the "Remember me" and still need a new login, then something is not functioning as it should - then maybe some more information. What happens when session times out? Do you see any messages?

Be aware that after the first post in this thread, there has been new releases.

Please read the documentation for the release you have installed - there could have been changes for the SSO.

cP should be 31 / 32

BUT - in the newest versions, it seems that it is not possible any more, to specify an eventID.

Hello tssweene

You could use   index.php?cP=30&eid=2957 if you want to edit and index.php?cP=31&eid=2957    if you want only to show.

Please try and tell if this was what you are looking for.

Hello fbonani

You can use a parameter for that.
If you specify a URL like this : http://www.yoursite.dk/yourcalendarfold … x.php?cP=7
Then you should see the upcoming events.

See more about parameters here : http://calendarforum.dk/installation.html

BUT - you could also use the display1. With this you can have images shown, and if you after the image-name specify a URL, then the image will be clickable and clicking the image will bring you to the URL.
