Hello,
I'm testing LuxCal. I embedded thi calender in my CMS like this:
<p><iframe class="luxCal" src="http://www.allsports.ch/kalender/?hdr=0" width="99%" height="800px"></iframe>

My question : it is possible to display only one category?
the web : http://www.allsports.ch/cms/index.php?page=kalender
Regards

Hi Otto,

Yes, that is possible. But it's a bit special. You will have to know the category id, which you can find in the MySQL database table "categories".
Once you know the category, you can launch your calendar as follows:. "http://www.allsports.ch/kalender/?hdr=0&cC=<catid>. <catid> should be your category id.
(Btw: cC stands for current Category.)

Hello Roel,
Thanks for your quick answer.
I did as you told me, but do not work!
Here my test page: http://www.allsports.ch/kalender/?hdr=0&cC=3
You also can try with the id 1, nothing change.

Hello Otto,
Yes, you are right. It worked in previous versions of LuxCal, but not any more in v2.5.3 :(
At any rate, it was not a very good solution because if the user would copy the URL and leave out the "&cC=3", he/she would see all categories.

What I can offer is to send you a slightly modified retrieve.php file which will retrieve one specific category if the user is not logged in (for example).
In this case it will be fixed and the public user will not be able to change it.

Minor disadvantages:
- If in future you want to upgrade to a new LuxCal version, you will have to preserve this minor modification in the file retrieve.php.
- If the category id changes, you will have to change the file retrieve.php.

If you are interested in this solution, send me your email address via the Contact Us page and I will send you a modified file.

I am interested in the code modification to apply it to my v422M install.  Please post the code modifications when you have time. Can the code be adapted to restrict a non-admin privileged users to see only specified categories? Maybe this would be a new thread?  Called "Restrict category access by user"

Hi Mark,
Otto never asked for the change, so I didn't produce it.
In the current 4.1+ versions of LuxCal a user is part of a user group and per user group you can specify which event categories the users in the group can see. Isn't that what you want?
If you want something else, let me know and I will see what I can do.
