Hi Roel

I've searched (with difficulty) through all of the files but cannot see if it is possible for the colon : to be removed from the Upcoming view please?

Thanks

Hi Graham,

Could you please tell me which colon?
In the v3.2.3 calendar I suppose.
Maybe send me a screen shot.

Hi Graham,

Just in front of that colon should be the word "Venue", which comes from the language file lang/ui-english.php.
The word "venue" is defined on line 122 of the language file and it looks like it has disappeared. Did you make any changes to this file?

Could you have a look in this file and see if line 122 looks like . . .
"evt_venue" => "Venue",
or send the file to me so that I can have  a look.

Hi Roel

Yup - I did remove the word Venue from the evt_category entry:

"evt_category" => "",

although I did, at one stage substitue it for the word 'At' but just thought the no entry worked better for my calendar - I thought that maybe the colon is elsewhere as it's not at that location.

In my file the entries look like this:

I think you and I may have a slightly different version of the file but I checked my downloaded calendar original files and the line entries are the same.

Thanks again

Been away this week.  Is there a simple answer to this one please Roel?

Thanks

Hi Graham,

This is not configurable; it's not foreseen that users replace texts in the language files with a blank (empty) line.

So, you will have to make a small change in the toolbox .php filel.
Open the /common/toolbox.php file in your editor and go to the function "makeE" on line 109. This function produces the event text and lay-out.
A few lines down you will find:

Code:

case '1':
if ($evt['ven']) { $eArray[] = "{$xx['evt_venue']}: {$evt['ven']}"; } break;
case '2':
$eArray[] = "{$xx['evt_category']}: {$evt['cnm']}"; break;

remove the colon and the space from line 2 and 4 so that it looks like . . .

Code:

case '1':
if ($evt['ven']) { $eArray[] = "{$xx['evt_venue']}{$evt['ven']}"; } break;
case '2':
$eArray[] = "{$xx['evt_category']}{$evt['cnm']}"; break;

Again a few lines down you will find:

Code:

case '1':
if ($evt['ven']) { $eArray[] = "<tr><td>{$xx['evt_venue']}:</td><td>{$evt['ven']}</td></tr>"; } break;
case '2':
$eArray[] = "<tr><td>{$xx['evt_category']}:</td><td>{$evt['cnm']}</td></tr>"; break;

Now remove the colon on the second and fourth line so that it looks like . . .

Code:

case '1':
if ($evt['ven']) { $eArray[] = "<tr><td>{$xx['evt_venue']}</td><td>{$evt['ven']}</td></tr>"; } break;
case '2':
$eArray[] = "<tr><td>{$xx['evt_category']}</td><td>{$evt['cnm']}</td></tr>"; break;

Note: I've removed the colon for both venue and category; you may want to remove the colon just for category.
Enjoy your Sunday,
Roel

Wow.ohmy

Sorry to have given you so much work Roel.  Having to delve back into (forgotten) code that really wasn't meant to be fiddled with was a big ask.  Thank you so much - that worked perfectly. thump_upthump_up
