Hi Daric,
Your English is fine wink
In the header of file lcalcron.php you will find an explanation on how to set up a cronjob.
Please have a look. If thereafter you still have questions I will help you to set up a cronjob.

The email notification for registration is sent directly and has nothing to do with email reminders.

Thank you very much,
i have created a cronjob and will test!

I hope I have given the correct path ( /var/www/webXXX/html/start/kalender/lcalcron.php )

I'll tell you tomorrow if it worked!

best regards from Germany,
daric

Normally 644 is fine. If this doesn't work, I would try 755.

Support of my hoster told me I must enter a command, such as this:

/usr/bin/php5 /var/www/web102/html/start/kalender/lcalcron.php

i will try

Hi Daric,
Ah yes, I didn't look very carefully, but of course PHP should be started (/usr/bin/php5).
On the admin's Settings page under "General" you can enable/disable the "admin cron job summary", when enabled, it is send to the "Calendar email address" (also on the Settings page under "General".

The reminder emails are meant for the calendar users and the cron job summary is for the calendar administrator.

Hi there

I'm having problems with cron.

I use 1and1 and I've never worked with Cron before and so followed this tutorial http://faq.1and1.co.uk/scripting/cron_jobs/3.html to get a better idea of how it worked.  I followed the tutorial and it worked and now I'm baffled why I can't this to work because I'm getting a syntax error of:

<b>Parse error</b>:  syntax error, unexpected '&', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in <b>/homepages/xx/xxxxxxxx/htdocs/xxxx/districtcalendar/common/retrieve.php</b> on line <b>149</b><br />

so I removed the '&' from this php script above and the same syntax error above appears in the following php scripts of:

retrieve2.php
notify.php
sendchg.php

and then a different says <b>Fatal error</b>:  Call to undefined function: date_default_timezone_set() in <b>/homepages/xx/xxxxxxxx/htdocs/xxxx/districtcalendar/lcalcron.php</b> on line <b>148</b><br />

so therefore I can't run the command of php lcalcron.php to process until all the errors are fixed.

I'm using Luxcal version 3.1.2

Can you help?

Ok I've managed to resolve it by doing this (after researching on this forum and on the internet):

--> In my web browser, just typed in the following: "www.websiteaddress.co.uk/calendar/lcalcron.php" (without the quotes)

--> Go to my SSH terminal and typed in "crontab -e" and then.... inserted the following of:

"0 2 * * * wget http://www.websiteaddressgoeshere.co.uk/calendar/lcalcron.php >/dev/null 2>&1" (without the quotes)

and hey voila - it worked!  I was so relieved! thump_up biggrin
